News and Noise
The majority of my abstract paintings deal with my reaction to a piece of music. Some pieces are created in one single play of a particular song that I have not listened to recently, while others are layered in through repeated listens. All kinds of tempos and genres are represented, from jazz and blues to punk and classical. Other paintings reflect my deep love of reading, and I am currently working on a series of science-fictional landscapes.

Untitled private commission, 2019, 24" x 36". Acrylic on unprimed canvas. The client's choice of music had a very bleak, mid-winter feel.
Loving a Book to Pieces, 2015, 25" x 17". Mixed media on board. This piece was finished in my outdoor studio due to being a very energetic painting.
On Reading, 2014, 24" x 24". Mixed media on canvas.
A warm spot out of the wind, 2012, 25" x 17". Acrylic on board. This is a piece recreating a specific feeling of timelessness from my childhood.
Three Days Late, 18" x 25", acrylic on board.
